understanding the internet

An intranet is a private network (private network) that uses Internet protocols (TCP / IP), to split the company's confidential information or operations of the company to its employees. Sometimes, the term refers only to the service intranet seen, the company's internal website. To build an intranet, then a network must have some components that build the Internet, the Internet Protocol (TCP / IP, IP addresses, and other protocols), the client and the server. Protocols HTTP and other Internet protocols (FTP, POP3, or SMTP) protocol is generally a component that is often used.

Generally, an intranet can be understood as a "private version of the Internet network", or as a version of the Internet that are owned by an organization.

Currently smart electronic devices have penetrated all aspects of life for example in an office, school, home. Some schools already implementing the intranet technology. The entire computer is connected to a local network. Intranet as newcomers rely on low cost, flexibility, open standards, and many vendors who join the intranet capability enhances collateral development and the increasing ability of technology. [1]

Intranet is used to help tools and applications, for example in cooperation collaboration (to facilitate working in groups and teleconferencing) or sophisticated corporate directories, sales and customer relationship management tools, project management etc., to advance productivity.

Intranet is also used as a platform change corporate culture. For example, large numbers of employees discussing key issues in an intranet forum application could lead to new ideas in management, productivity, quality, and other corporate issues.

In large intranets, website traffic is often similar to public website traffic and can be better understood by using web metrics software to track overall activity. User surveys also improve intranet website effectiveness. Larger businesses allow users within their intranet to access the public Internet through firewall servers. They have the ability to handle the messages that come and go and keep security intact.

When part of an intranet accessible by customers and others outside the business, becomes part of an extranet. Businesses can send private messages through the public network, using special encryption / decryption and other security safeguards to connect one part of their intranet to another.

Users experienced intranet, editorial, and technology teams work together to produce a website. Most commonly, an intranet is managed by the department of communications, HR or CIO of a large organization, or a combination thereof.

Excess
Intranet needs some pressure driven by technology, namely:
* Intranet is an invaluable tool to enhance the development and growth of industrial products
* Intranet further improve the response to the complaints and needs of its customers.
* Intranet able to lower the cost of information needs collaboration, workflow, and enterprise connectivity.
* Intranet got a lot of advantages because of the success of the world wide web of support that allows the use of extensive public use because the use of the internet. The trick is to create a website. Intranet become a trend nowadays due to its flexibility that is easy to use. [2]

The benefits of the use of intranet for schools:
* Assist in making the teaching, learning in school more easily
* Assist in developing a curriculum that will prepare students for the future
* Giving students more information to add teaching curriculum
* Assist in identifying the required information and quality without wasting a lot of time
* Assist in identifying relevant policy and practice of library professionals in the developed countries at the school level. [3]

An intranet is a computer network based TCP / IP protocols such as Internet only be used in internal company, office, and even internet cafes (WARNET) can be categorized Intranet. Between Intranet can communicate with each other through the Internet connection that provides the backbone of long-distance communication. But actually an Intranet does not need external connection to the Internet to function properly. Intranet use all the TCP / IP protocol and its application so that we have a "private" Internet.
If a business entity / business / institution to expose some of the internal network to the outside community, this is called extranets. It usually does not remove all the contents in the intranet to the public to make an intranet into extranet. For example, we're buying the software, books, etc. from an e-store, then usually we can access most of the stores Intranet. Business entities / companies may block access to the intranet and put them through the router firewall. A firewall is a software / hardware that regulates an individual's access into the intranet. Protection is done through various network parameters if the IP address, port number, etc.. If the firewall is enabled then access can be controlled so that we can only access a part of the company Intranet which became known as the extranet.
